Four foreign TV channels changed their name, two more were added to the list of programs allowed for retransmission
According to the decision of the National Council of September 27 the List of foreign programs, the content of which complies with the requirements of the European Convention on Transfrontier Television and of the legislation of Ukraine,was amended. In the territory of Ukraine it is allowed to show the musical channel “NASHE MUSIC CHANNEL” and the educational “English club TV” channel. Moreover, four broadcasters will now broadcast under another name.
The “NASHE MUSIC CHANNEL” TV channel is licensed by the Kingdom of Spain and distributed in the territory of Ukraine via IPTV. Transmissions are conducted in Ukrainian language, broadcasting is carried out 24 hours a day. According to the results of the analysis of the program content, it was established that the TV channel does not broadcast advertisements, shows and films, the distribution of which is prohibited in Ukraine. The appeal for the inclusion of this foreign program to the List was received from the Spanish company, “Sonnet Generation Media S.L.”, by the National Council.
The “English club” TV channel offers programs for learning English that are broadcast 24 hours a day in English and Russian. Shows or movies, the distribution of which is prohibited in the territory of Ukraine, as well as advertisements weren’t recorded at the time of monitoring of the said channel. The channels broadcasting company “English club Ltd.” was licensed by the British media regulator OFCOM.
General Manager of the company “Viasat World Limited” (Great Britain) Benjamin Groocock informed the Regulator about the change of titles of British TV channels “TV 1000 Somedy HD”, “TV 1000 Megahit HD” and “TV 1000 Premium HD”. These changes were made to OFCOM licenses and taken into account by the National Council. Therefore, the channels will now operate under “ViP Comedy” (simultaneous broadcast in SD and HD formats), “ViP Megahit” (SD and HD) and “ViP Premiere” (SD and HD formats).
The German TV channel “RTVD” also changed its name. Now it will be distributed as “OstWest”. TV company “RTV Broadcast&Content Management GmbH” has requested such changes, as confirmed by the letter from the Regulatory authority of Berlin and Brandenburg MABB (Medienanstalt_Berlin_Brandenburg).
