Procedures for submitting information on the ownership structure by TV and radio organizations and programme service providers was approved
At its meeting on January 21 the National Council approved the procedures for submitting information on the ownership structure by TV and radio organizations and programme service providers and adoption of the relevant forms of documents.
The draft regulatory act was elaborated with the support of the experts of the Council of Europe for further implementation of the Law of Ukraine “On Amending Certain Laws of Ukraine on Ensuring Transparency of Ownership of Mass Media and Implementing the Principles of State Television and Radio Broadcasting Policy”.
At the end of November 2015, this draft was provided for public consultation.
When considering this issue, the Deputy Chairman of the National Council Mrs Ulyana Feshchuk informed, that the Broadcasting Company “Ukraine”, the Telecommunications Chamber of Ukraine and the Television Industry Committee provided several comments and suggestions on the draft Procedures, some of which were included.
The Deputy Chairman said, that the document is of actuality, because according to the Law the deadline for submitting information on the ownership structure and final beneficiary owners by TV and radio organizations and programme service providers is April 1, 2016.
The document will be submitted to the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine for its state registration.
