The procedures for submitting information on the ownership structure by TV and radio organizations and programme service providers has come into force
On 11 March the Procedures for submitting information on the ownership structure by TV and radio organizations and programme service providers was published in the Official Bulletin of Ukraine. Thus, this regulatory act of the National Council has come into force.
The document was approved by the Decision of the National Council No 2 of January 21, 2016 and was registered by the Ministry of Justice on February 17, 2016 (No 251/28381).
The Procedures define the scheme for submitting information on the ownership structure by TV and radio organisations and programme service providers and determine the enforcement mechanism for the National Council related to adherence of the information entities to the ownership structure disclosure requirements enshrined in the Law of Ukraine “On Television and Radio Broadcasting”.
The draft regulatory act was elaborated with the support of the Council of Europe experts for execution of the Law of Ukraine “On amending certain laws of Ukraine on ensuring transparency of media ownership, as well as implementation of the state policy principles in the area of television and radio broadcasting” and the draft act was available for public consultation in late November
