National TV channels and radio stations published prices for the political advertising
The National Council analyzed the situation concerning adherence by the TV and radio organizations to the requirements of the legislation on publishing in the print press of prices for the political advertising, which they place in their broadcasts.
Among 27 national TV channels and 15 national radio stations the information concerning broadcasting time prices for the pre-election agitation have not been published only by 3 channels: the Parliamentary channel “Rada” (“Рада”), “XSPORT” and “Eskulap TV” (“Ескулап-TV”). Moreover, the monitoring of the National Council shows that these broadcasters do not disseminate the political advertising.
The requirement that obliges TV and radio organizations to publish prices for the pre-election agitation is enshrined in part 16 of Article 107 of the Law of Ukraine “On Election of the Members of the Parliament of Ukraine”. The required information was published by the broadcasters in the newspapers “The Governmental Courier” (“Урядовий кур’єр”) and “The Voice of Ukraine” (“Голос України”).
